Now, though it is natural to suppose
that the opposite walls reflect the sound,
it is not easy to say in what manner; as
the form of the building is a very com-
mon one, and no other of the same con-
struction, that I have ever heard of, pro-
duces the same effects. I made experi-
ments of all kinds, and in every situation;

with
