A note: Typical Portuguese lunches are robust multi-course affairs, including:

• Various starters (entradas), such as bread, cheese, olives, and soup,
• an entree (prato principal) of meat or fish (vegetarian possible) with salad, potatoes, and/or rice
• Dessert (sobremesa) or fruit
• Drinks (water, soda, wine)
• Coffee
